Child Dies From Landmine in Battambang Province's Koas Kralor District

BATTAMBANG: A 13-year-old boy has died while chasing a cow through a field in Prey Toteung village, Chhnal Moan commune, Koas Kralor district, in Battambang province, and accidentally stepping on a landmine, causing it to set off and explode

Authorities have said that this horrific incident occurred at 16:40 on Tuesday, 8 March 2022. Prior to the incident, the victim, 13-year-old Soeun Vansing, went out to herd cows in a field. Both the boy and the cow died after the landmine exploded.

After the incident, the body of the victim was retrieved and taken to his family to perform the traditional death rites.
